Penrickton Center for Blind Children offers a variety of community education programs on blindness and other disabilities suitable for any group and/or service club. These programs range from “hands on” interactive programs to slide presentations. In addition Penrickton Center offers educational programs suitable for elementary, middle, high schools and secondary education. All programs can be presented at your location or at Penrickton Center. A tour of Penrickton Center is an enlightening experience for young and old.

Volunteers also play an important role at Penrickton Center. We teach our volunteers how to promote independence with our children. In addition, volunteers assist in our therapy dog program, adaptive horseback riding program, and computer program. We have other volunteer opportunities where you are not working directly with our children, but are very important. These include our community education program, gardening, and  building/grounds/maintenance support.

For more information about our Community Education or Volunteer Program, please contact Sharlene Garcia, Volunteer Coordinator at sharlene@penrickton.com.
